New Hyrule Warriors Characters Revealed!

The Nintendo Console Gaming Facebook has posted some new screenshots of Hyrule Warriors! These screenshots reveal some additional characters for the game—Lana, Agitha, Agorok, and Zant.

Lana and Agitha are both playable, bringing our current confirmed playable character roster to six. Agitha’s design looks pretty intense to me and although I have not played Twilight Princess, I’m happy to see that she’s coming to this new game because she seems like she’ll be a very interesting character to play as.

Lana was introduced in these screenshots as a brand new character to the series and she seems to be a magic user. Her design is quite awesome and stands out even among all of the incredible character designs we’ve already seen thus far. It’s going to be hard to choose who to play as in this game, there are so many great options and there’s still more to be revealed.

Click this link to see the new characters and screenshots for yourself and I’ll be sure to report on any more big Nintendo news.

Mario Kart’s Mercedes Benz Style Kart Coming this Summer

So, it looks like Mario Kart 8’s going to get some new content! And, according to this tweet from Nintendo of America, it’s in the form of a brand new kart! The kart is based off of a GLA-class Mercedes Benz and looks pretty sleek, to say the least. Previously, it was reported that Japan would be receiving this surprising new kart and many speculated whether or not it would get a release outside of Japan. But now it has been confirmed that it will be coming to America this summer. I suspect this is through either DLC or a system update. The tweet says the details will be revealed soon, so we’ll just have to wait and see.

5 Things I Thought About Tomodachi Life

Here’s my first game review of sorts. Recently, I’ve been playing with Tomodachi Life for the 3DS, a life simulation game of sorts that lets you play with various Miis in order to create a wacky, but lovable world. Instead of giving a straight-up review, though, I want to try something different and just give you 5 key impressions I had about the game. These can be things I liked, complaints, criticisms, expectations, and even hopes for the game. For now, though, since I quite enjoy the game, today’s entry is going to focus mostly on what I liked about the game.

Without further ado, here it is!

Image1. The Humor- This game has some genuinely funny moments that really made me laugh out loud. Some of my favorites came from just ordinary dialogue, but there’s a lot of quirky humor that you’ve probably seen advertised and talked about on other websites. There’s some weird stuff going on sometimes, but I love it. It really keeps the gameplay fresh and unique every day.

2. Collecting- Like most games, Tomodachi Life doesn’t give you everything right up front. A lot of items and collectibles (which there are a lot of) need to be earned and others just aren’t available right away. The stores on your island will change inventory every day meaning that you’ll need to come back a lot in order to find the items you need. Much like Animal Crossing, it’s mostly up to luck what you get, but it’s always fun to go see what’s available each time you start up the game.

Summary of Nintendo @ E3 Treehouse Day 3

I just thought I’d provide a quick summary of what I managed to catch of the Nintendo Treehouse for Day 3. This doesn’t cover all of what was shown, but it’s what stood out to me the most when I did manage to catch it.

The first game covered was Fantasy Life for the 3DS. This featured a demo of the game and an explanation of some of the main mechanics with a focus on the multiplayer aspects of the game.

After Fantasy Life, the newly announced game Code Name: S.T.E.A.M. was highlighted. The game was described as having a turn-based battle system that incorporates aspects of action games. Additionally, the game also is said to feature Abraham Lincoln (who knew that teaser for Smash Bros. featuring Abraham Lincoln as a Mii was actually a preview of things to come!). We even got a look at one of the game’s cut scenes for the game featuring comic book aesthetics and voice acting. They also showed off the game’s combat system.

The Treehouse also featured a demo of Super Smash Bros. for the 3DS that showed off the new stage based off of New Super Mario Bros. 2. Following that, there was a general discussion about several games featuring Reggie Fils-Aime.

There was also some additional coverage of Super Smash Bros. for the Wii U and Splatoon, and Project Guard, Xenoblade Chronicles X, Yoshi’s Wooly World (featuring the co-op gameplay), Bayonetta 2. Bayonetta 2’s section of Treehouse showed off a previously unseen aspect of the game in which Bayonetta is in control of some type of mech armor.

The remainder of the event also showed off more of Hyrule Warriors and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U.

There’s still to be some news coming up soon, and I’ll be sure to keep you posted.

Until then,

New Trailer for Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire

Following the Mega Sableye reveal yesterday and the E3 trailer we got a couple days ago, a brand new trailer for Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire was revealed today on Pokémon’s official YouTube channel. Though much of it seems to be dedicated to showing us more on the three starters and their eventual Mega Evolution, the video allowed us to see some brand new scenes from the game as well. Included in these were images of the battles with the Team Magma and Team Aqua grunts (which, unlike X and Y, feature the official art for the trainers and not 3D models, though we’ve seen that Maxie and Archie do have in fact have models). Additionally some of the scenes showed the player riding their bike across those tricky bridges, engaging in a fight with their rival, as well as Mega Evolving Diancie.

The end of the trailer also revealed that Diancie will be available for distribution in Pokémon X and Y, while Diancie’s Mega Stone will be available in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.

Watch the trailer for yourself by following this link.

E3 is still going on today and I’ll be sure to post something if any other new and interesting information is revealed.

New 3DS Game- Code Name S.T.E.A.M.

Though details are sparse, a roundtable event today revealed that the mysterious 3DS game that was teased for us yesterday game called Code Name S.T.E.A.M. and is a western style game with steam punk influences. Many were hoping for a Majora’s Mask remake, but there’s no word of that coming as of yet. But, who knows, E3 isn’t over yet. Though, based on reports from the roundtable, this new game sounds interesting too and I hope we get a look at it in the near future so we can learn more details about it.

Until then,

Edit: New screenshots are available of the game called Code Name S.T.E.A.M from Nintendo’s Twitter and Facebook accounts.  The game is slated to be released in 2015. Check out the screenshots here.

Mega Sableye Announced for Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire!

Just a short while ago, The Official Pokémon Channel on YouTube posted a video of a new Mega Evolution that will debut in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire this fall! Mega Sableye! Mega Sableye gets a huge gem to use in battle. Pretty cool! Click here to watch the trailer!

ImageIn other news, The Nintendo Treehouse at E3 is still going on and will be for the rest of today and tomorrow. There’s supposed to be a brand new 3DS game announced today, so I’ll probably post something about that when it’s revealed.

Pac-Man for Smash Bros 3DS/Wii

Another surprise announcement today! They just keep coming, don’t they?
A Tweet from Nintendo reveals that Pac-Man is set to join the cast of Smash Bros. Many saw this coming, but it’s still a little surprising nonetheless. Tweets from Nintendo and the trailer also strongly imply that Mr. Game & Watch is soon to be announced as well.
Check out his official reveal trailer + some new screen shots here.

Summary of Nintendo @ E3 Treehouse

This’ll just be a short wrap-up of what went down. Most of what was shown was just more detailed coverage of the upcoming games that were shown during the Digital Event.

Spotlighted games during the Treehouse event included: Splatoon, Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, Xenoblade Chronicles X, and Hyrule Warriors.

There was also special attention given to two new in-development projects with, what I assume to be, tentative titles. One was “Project Giant Robot” and the other was “Project Guard”. Both of these were stated to be incomplete, but Miyamoto and a few of the developers were able to bring a demo to the show that allowed E3-goers to experience it a little bit. Both seem to utilize the GamePad well and they, also seem at first glance, to be very different from a lot of the other games that were shown off during the Nintendo Digital Event. I’m all for variety, though, so I’m interested to see more.

Finally, Miyamoto did mention that, although it wasn’t shown (at least at the time of posting this entry) there would be a new Star Fox game coming to the Wii U. I know fans were disappointed that it wasn’t shown off or talked about much, but hopefully that’ll change soon.

The Treehouse event is still going on right now and soon the official Smash Bros Invitational will start.

I’ll be sure to write about any new information that is revealed.

Until then,
